After forcing 2/1
The 2 over 1 response always shows a 5(+) card suit and 9(+) HCP. It is forcing unless responder is a passed hand. Opener will next attempt to define his own hand. He will re-bid his opened suit with a 1-suiter, or bid his second suit (which is at least as long as the first) if he has one.
Opener's first rebid

Note: Over 1/ - 2 - 2NT in order to decide which handtype opener has, responder can bid 3 with fit, or 3/ with major fit. Over 3 opener rebids 3/ with the one suited hand, all other bid confirms the hand. Over responder's 3/ bid opener should bid 3NT with the Canapè, all other bids confirm the one-suited hand.
Responder's second bid
Raise of second (long) suit
- At the 3 level : GI, support
- E.g.: 1-2 / 2-3
- At the 4 level (w/ or w/o jump): GF (stronger than raise to game in minor)
- E.g.: 1-2 / 3-4, or 1-2 / 2-4
Preference to first suit
- At the 2 level: 3(+) card support, NF
- E.g. 1-2 / 2-2
- At the 3 level (w/ or w/o jump):
- If opener rebid his own suit: GI, w/ 2(+) card support
- E.g. 1-2-2-3
- If opener bid a new suit (w/o jump): GI, usually with 4 card support
- E.g. 1-2 / 2-3, or 1-2 / 2-3
- If opener raised responder's suit: GF, 3(+) card support (as opener has not denied 5 cards)
- E.g. 1-2 / 3-3 (stronger than raise to 4)
- If opener bid 2NT: GF, 3(+) card support
- E.g. 1-2 / 2NT-3 : fit with opener's single suit, GF. Stronger than 4.
- E.g. 1-2 / 2NT-3 : fit, if opener had the one-suited hand, and not Canapè
